Logistics Packaging and Tariff Policies
To ensure that your precious artwork arrives intact, we have established rigorous logistics packaging standards and provided clear explanations regarding customs duties involved in international shipping.
1. Packaging Standards
We understand that each hand-painted original piece is unique and irreplaceable. Therefore, we adopt international shipping packaging standards that exceed the norm, operated entirely by professionals to ensure the artwork remains safe during long-distance transport.
Our packaging process is as follows:
1. Professional Pre-processing
Before shipping, all artworks are allowed to rest in a suitable environment to ensure that the ink and colors are completely dry and stable.
A specialist performs a detailed inspection and dusting of the artwork.
2. Core Image Protection
(1) Use acid-free glassine paper or top-quality cotton paper to gently cover the artwork, avoiding any direct contact that may cause friction or adhesion.
(2) For particularly sensitive works created with heavy or mineral pigments, additional isolation protection will be applied.
3. Rigid Support and Shock Resistance
(1) The artwork is placed flat between custom-cut rigid foam core boards or corrugated cardboard to ensure it will not bend under any circumstances.
(2) Each corner of framed works (such as mirrors or framed paintings) is equipped with thickened corner protectors, reinforced with high-strength corner pads.
(3) Multi-layer bubble wrap is used for comprehensive tight wrapping, forming the first layer of shock resistance.
4. Custom Outer Box and Sealing
(1) The packaged artwork is placed inside a custom-made double-walled cardboard box. For extremely valuable or large-sized pieces, a custom wooden box is used.
(2) All gaps inside the box are filled with eco-friendly inflatable filling bags or foam blocks to ensure the artwork is absolutely fixed and has no movement within the box.
(3) The seams of the outer box are sealed with waterproof tape and reinforced with strapping.
2. Customs Duty Policy and Clearance Guidelines
International express shipments typically involve customs inspection, duties, and import value-added tax (VAT/GST) when entering the destination country. Please be aware of the following policies:
1. Customs Duty Responsibility
(1) According to international trade practices, all import duties, taxes, customs processing fees, etc., that may arise in the destination country/region shall be borne by the buyer (recipient). These fees are not collected by us but are determined and collected by the customs of the destination country during the clearance process.
(2) We will declare the value and description of the goods truthfully on the commercial invoice, which serves as the primary basis for customs taxation.
2. Customs Clearance Assistance Documents
To assist you with smooth customs clearance, we provide the following professional documents with the shipment:
(1) Detailed commercial invoice: indicating the description of the artwork, artist, material, dimensions, year of creation, and declared value.
(2) Authenticity certificate signed by the artist: This certificate effectively proves that the work is an original piece of art and may assist in applying for favorable duty rates in certain countries.
(3) Summary of customs duties in major regions:
· United States: Original hand-painted artworks typically enjoy zero duty treatment but are still required to declare formally. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requires accurate documentation.
· European Union/United Kingdom: Member states have varying VAT policies for artworks. Original artworks may be subject to favorable tax rates, but specific duties are determined by local customs.
· Canada/Australia, etc.: Generally, original artworks are exempt from duties but may be subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST/HST). Taxes are collected by the courier or paid upon collection.
Note: Customs regulations in various countries may change, and the above information is for reference only. The final duties will be determined by the local customs upon receipt.
3. Logistics and Delivery
1. Carrier Selection: We prioritize working with international couriers such as DHL, FedEx, and UPS, which offer specialized "art logistics" services. They possess more refined handling standards and a more reliable door-to-door tracking system.
2. Shipping Time: Delivery time to major cities worldwide is approximately 7-20 working days (including clearance time). Delays in customs clearance may extend shipping times.
3. Logistics Tracking: Once the goods are dispatched, we will provide you with a unique logistics tracking number via email, allowing you to check the entire logistics status at any time on the carrier's official website.
4. Receiving Tips: Please be sure to inspect the goods upon receipt. If there are any significant damages, wetness, or deformation to the outer packaging, please take photos/videos as evidence and immediately note it on the receipt while contacting us. Signing indicates acceptance of the outer packaging's condition.
4. Disclaimer
Our meticulous packaging is designed to minimize shipping risks and includes full shipping insurance for the goods. However, we do not take responsibility for delays caused by customs inspections, force majeure (such as extreme weather, war, etc.), or the recipient's failure to cooperate in customs clearance in a timely manner.
